Wilda “Jean” Fowler

fowlerWilda “Jean” Fowler, 89, Logansport, passed away at 11:39 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 in University Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born on February 6, 1926, in Logansport.

On Feb. 15, 1946, in Idaville, she was married to Walter B. Fowler. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1987.

Jean was a 1945 graduate of Idaville High School. She worked in several local businesses over the years, including Henry’s Drive-In, Nora’s Party Shop and Mr. Happy Burger.

She was a member of the Church of Christ. Jean was also active in the Widow-to-Widow group. Her hobbies included doing cross-stitch and needlepoint. She loved making crafts. Jean was also an avid IU fan.

Surviving are daughter-in-law, Lois Hinkle Fowler of Logansport; two half-brothers, Warren (Connie) Burget of Lafayette and Bill (Geraldine) Swaney of Fishers; one sister Marilyn Elaine Myers, of Kerrville, Texas; one step-sister Donna Trapp, of Logansport; one sister-in-law Nancy Burget, of Monticello; one granddaughter, Laura Fowler of Logansport; and two great-grandchildren Tristyn Fowler and Blaine Rush.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Allen D. “Roscoe” Fowler; her grandson, Chris Fowler; her mother and step-father Thelma Belle (Hershberger) and Roy Burget; her father and step-mother Russell C. and Helen L. (Siferd) Swaney; sister Patricia “Joanne” Hall and two half-brothers Dale Burget and Loren Burget.

A memorial service celebrating Jean’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30th, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Jeff Strite officiating.

Burial will follow in Idaville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
