More than 100 north central Indiana employers are planning to participate in the spring Kokomo Area Job Fair set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Kokomo Event & Conference Center. Indiana University Kokomo and Ivy Tech Community College are sponsoring the fair, which is open to students, alumni and community members seeking part-time, full-time or internship positions.

Tracy Springer, director of IUK’s Career and Accessibility Center, noted participants should be sure to dress in professional business attire. “Bring your résumé in case an employer asks for one,” she encouraged, “and be prepared to talk with every employer!”

The Ivy Tech Community College Logansport Campus, 1 Ivy Tech Way, will be the site of the 2016 Logansport Area Career Fair from 2 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 12. The event is sponsored by Ivy Tech and Trine University.

“More than 30 employers have registered for the event and more are expected,” said Suzanne Dillman, associate vice chancellor of Student Affairs at Ivy Tech’s Logansport Campus. “We are very pleased to be able to help students and alumni from both schools connect with employers from throughout north central Indiana. That includes businesses in Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, and Wabash counties.”

Dillman noted public transportation is available in Logansport through Cass Area Transit, with a scheduled 2:43 p.m. drop off at the campus. The return pickup time to leave the campus is 5:45 p.m.

Career fairs also offer a great opportunity for career exploration. “Even if you’re not looking for a job right now, a career fair is a great place to find out what kind of jobs are out there and what kind of credentials you’d need to qualify,” said Marcia Worland, director of Marketing, Communication and Admissions for Ivy Tech.

Admissions officers from Ivy Tech and Trine will be on hand in Logansport and Ivy Tech and IUK will be at the Kokomo job fair.
