Karen L. Wild

Karen L. Wild, 80, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on September 25, 1938 in Logansport, she is the daughter to the late Charles C. and Elda Doris (Hutton) Shaver.  On July 11, 1959 in Logansport, she married Richard “Rich” Wild who survives.

Karen retired as a secretary for Fairview Elementary in Logansport. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa, Joy Circle and the Tourist Club. Karen enjoyed Logansport Berries Baseball, gardening, traveling and most of all spending time with her family. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital, collected snowmen and folk art cats. Karen was also a very skilled baker, known by most for her delicious pie crusts.

Surviving along with her husband Rich are three sons, Michael Wild, Peoria, IL; Jeffrey (Dawn) Wild, Burnettsville; Kevin (Melissa) Wild, Indianapolis; sister Nancy (Terry) Sturgeon, Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, Brandon (Morgan) Wild, Sarai (Grant) Quimby, Evan Wild, Alanna Wild; great grandchildren, Mason Wild, Annabel Wild, Paylin Quimby and one baby Quimby on the way.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Beth Ann Cook and Pastor Dawn Wild officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 and also one hour prior to the service at the Gundrum Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Logansport.
