Patricia R McCord, 91, Logansport, passed away 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born January 5, 1927, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Fries) Mucker.  On June 22, 1949, she married James McCord, who died in 2016. 

Pat graduated from Ball State Teachers’ College with a degree in Elementary education in 1948.  She was proud of her time spent caring for Ball State President Emens’ children while in college.  For many years, Pat was a loyal substitute teacher in the Logansport Community Schools.  Pat was actively involved in her community and church, including Logansport Jayettes, Girls Scouts and Cub Scouts at the previous St Vincent’s School, coordinating the picture directory for All Saint’s parish, and supporting her husband in the business.  She also took in mending for many nursing homes and people in the community.  She and Jim were always present at their children and grandchildren’s activities. 

Surviving are her sons, Ed (Chris Alhambra) McCord, Silver Springs, MD, and Mike (Amii) McCord, Logansport; daughters Kathy Staugler, Fort Recovery OH, and Karen (Dan) York, Bluffton; sisters-in-law, Joan Mucker, Logansport, and Martha McIlrath, Crawfordsville; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren Amy (Jason) Bihn, Carrie Staugler, Jeff Staugler, Chris (Jessica) York, Brandon York, Ashleigh McCord, Jacob McCord, Tucker McCord and Brantly McCord; great grandchildren, Paige Bihn, Drew Bihn, Leo York, and Violet York.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Mucker and Robert Mucker; son-in;law, Paul Staugler; sisters-in-law, Florence Mucker and Mary Royal; brothers-in-law, John Royal and Dan McIlrath. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Kroeger Funeral Home and from 9:00-10:30 on Friday also at the funeral home.  There will be a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday also at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018, at All Saints Catholic church with Fr. Jeff Martin officiating. 

Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Section of Mount Hope Cemetery.
