Wade “Gene” McVay, Sr.

Wade “Gene” McVay, Sr., AKA “The Camaro Kid”, 57, of Logansport passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born on October 18, 1961 in Rochester.

 Gene formerly was employed at SUS Casting, EIS and Monon Trailer.

 He enjoyed stock car racing, 4 wheeling, street rods, working on vehicles and fishing. Gene was a jack of all trades who never met a stranger.

 Survivors include his son, Wade Eugene McVay, Jr., of Monticello, mother, Judy Spencer of Logansport, father, Wayne McVay of Logansport, brother, Danny Spencer of Logansport, sister, Lynn Layman (Jay Dee) of Royal Center. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. The McVay family would like to say a special thank you to the love of Gene’s life, Tammy Doss for all of her support.

He was preceded in death by his step dad, Harley “Butch” Spencer and grandparents, Eunice Smith, Samuel Smith, Everett McVay and Thelma McVay.

Services for Gene will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel &Crematory. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

 Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery at a later date.
