Registration open for summer and two fall terms at Ivy Tech

Last Updated on March 19, 2019 by cassnetwork

KOKOMO – Registration for summer courses and the two fall terms is open at Ivy Tech Community College and the admissions offices at Kokomo and Logansport campuses are ready Mondays through Fridays to help prospective students get ready to start class. Express Enrollment events are set for Tuesday, March 26, and Wednesday, March 27, to encourage students to get a jump on completing the process.

Students can sign up for summer classes that begin June 10 and for an expanded schedule of eight-week courses that begin Aug. 26 and Oct. 28. They are encouraged to sign up for either or both fall terms before the August class start.

“We are excited to be offering more courses in the eight-week format,” said Kates Brommeland, admissions director for Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Service Area. “Many students are having great success with the new format that allows them to concentrate on fewer courses each term while working to complete certificates and degrees more efficiently. Our Express Enrollment Center staff looks forward to sharing information about the eight-week class schedule.”

The eight-week format also supports Indiana’s Workforce Ready Grant program, which pays for training for qualified students in selected high-demand areas. Brommeland noted that nine programs have been added to the 38 programs previously approved for the Workforce Ready Grant support. These include building construction management specialist, payroll, enrolled agents, human resource management, medical office administration, EKG technician, and paramedic science.

Brommeland also encouraged area college students now studying at residential campuses to consider registering for a course or two this summer. “It’s a great way to make the most of summer back home,” she said. “Ivy Tech offers a number of courses that these students can complete here, earning credits that will transfer to their four-year institution.”

Students can register at the Kokomo campus, 1815 E. Morgan St., and the Logansport campus, 1 Ivy Tech Way, Logansport.

Ivy Tech recommends that students come with a government-issued photo identification, 2016 and 2017 tax information, and SAT/ACT/PSAT scores and/or high school or college transcripts. Participants are strongly encouraged to RSVP at IvyTech.edu/EEDay , where more information on the process can be found.

Members of the admissions team are available to ask questions in advance. Contact Carlee Cook at ccook183@ivytech.edu or 765-252-5487 for the Kokomo Campus event at 1815 E.
