One arrested after reports of shots fired in Logansport

The Logansport Police Department was sent to the area of the 1200 block of High Street at approximately 7:56 p.m. Monday, April 15 in reference to possible shots fired. Upon arrival to the area, police located one spent shell casing along with one bullet in the 100 block of 13th St.

Patrol was able to identify a residence where the suspected shooter was located and established a perimeter around the residence.

The Logansport hostage negotiators and Logansport SWAT team were called to the scene. Negotiators were able to make contact with the suspect inside. Negotiators were able to get the suspect to surrender without further incident at approximately 11:20 p.m. The suspect was taken into custody by the Logansport SWAT team without further incident. The suspect was transported to the Logansport Memorial Hospital for evaluation and medical clearance. The suspect was then transported to the Cass County Jail upon his release from the hospital.

The suspect was identified as Taylor Lee, 23, of Logansport. Lee was placed into custody for residential entry (level 6 felony), criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon (level 5 felony) and serious violent felon in possession of a firearm (level 4 felony).

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
