CASS COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that a bridge replacement project will begin Monday over the Panhandle Pathway on U.S. 24 in Logansport.

During the first phase of the project, motorists will encounter narrower lanes with a speed limit reduction to 45 mph. Then, in August, the road will close for approximately 40 days while crews replace the bridge. The closure will be announced at a later date.

Once the closure is in place, a detour will be set up. State road detours must be on state-maintained roads only. Eastbound drivers on U.S. 24 will detour north on State Road 39, east on State Road 16 and south on U.S. 35 back to U.S. 24. Westbound drivers will detour north on U.S. 35, west on SR 16 and south on SR 39 back to U.S. 24.

Drivers in Northwest Indiana can monitor road closures, road conditions, and traffic alerts at any time via the District’s social media channels: www.Facebook.com/INDOTNorthwest or Twitter @INDOTNorthwest. Or visit http://www.trafficwise.in.gov for INDOT’s TrafficWise Traveler Information Service.
