Post photos to win on Public Lands Day

Last Updated on September 26, 2019 by cassnetwork

Saturday, Sept. 28, is National Public Lands Day across the country and here in Indiana.

It is a day to celebrate and enjoy the outdoors at state parks, reservoirs, state forest recreation areas, nature preserves, outdoor riding areas and state fish & wildlife areas that are all a part of the DNR. And win a prize, if you’re lucky.

Gate admission is free at all DNR properties except at Hardy Lake, which will instead be free on Sunday, Sept. 29. There are lots of programs, opportunities to volunteer, and plenty of things to do on your own.

And, if you visit a DNR property to play or volunteer, make sure to share your photos of hikes, service projects, camping, state park inn visits, hunting, birding, fishing, picnics or other activities on your favorite DNR Facebook page.

For doing so, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a 2020 Annual Entrance Pass, a $25 camping or inns gift card, a $25 hunting/fishing license gift certificate or a one-year subscription to Outdoor Indiana magazine. Be sure to include #NPLDIN or #NPLDINFree with each photo so DNR can find and include your photo in the drawing.

To find a National Public Lands Day event near you, go to calendar.dnr.IN.gov and look on Sept. 28.
