Gerald LeRoy Williams

Gerald LeRoy Williams, 87, of Logansport, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, in his home.

Born July 3, 1932, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Walter James and Catherine Mable (Smith) Williams.

Gerald was a 1952 graduate of Logansport High School.

On February 1, 1957, in Logansport, he was married to Saundre (Lewellen) Williams who preceded him in death July 6, 2016.

In 1994, Gerald retired from Matthew-Warren where he had worked as an inspector for thirty-three years.

Gerald was a member of Logansport’s Tipton Masonic Lodge and the Indianapolis Murat Shrine. Gerald was a very loyal supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He had served as Cub Master with the Franklin Elementary Cub Scouts. Gerald was a Scoutmaster of the former American Legion Scout Troop and was very proud to have mentored his five grandsons who are all Eagle Scouts. He served as a Unit Commissioner with the Sagamore Council, B.S.A. In recent years, he was affiliated with Troop 2 where he enjoyed seeing his great-grandchildren enter the world of Scouting.

He enjoyed woodworking, but more than anything else the time he spent with his family was his greatest joy. .

Surviving are four children: Debra (Tim) Pickens, Lucerne, Kathleen (Duane) Brubaker, Royal Center; Pamela (Paul) Snyder, and Gerald (Billie Jean) Williams, Jr. Logansport; one brother, Marion (Carol) Williams, LaGrange, Georgia; one sister, Helen (Glen) Gaby, Logansport; ten grandchildren: Fred Gibbs, Christina (Travis) Holcomb, Alicia Gibbs, Bradley (Eryn) Gibbs, Paul (Chelsea) Snyder, Andrew (Angelica) Snyder, Jennifer Pickens, Matthew (Katelyn) Pickens, Cody (Rachel) Williams, and Josh Williams; and seventeen great-grandchildren. .

A Funeral Service celebrating Gerald’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 8 in the funeral chapel.

Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
