Ruth A. Winegardner, 85, Logansport, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, in Chase Center.

Born October 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Von Harry and Edith (Green) Sivits.

On October 7, 1950, she was married to James Richard Winegardner who preceded her in death on December 15, 2000.

A homemaker, Ruth was the beloved matriarch of a large family. In 1995, she retired from Switches after many years of employment.

Ruth was a member of the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are eight children: Edith (Larry) Isley, Rochester, Ed Winegardner, Twelve Mile, Joan (Fred) Boehme, Flora, Susie (Dave) Maggart, Rochester, Betsy Winegardner, Logansport, Teresia (Mike) Ross, Logansport, Georgia (Joe) Mantle, Battle Ground, and Nancy (Joe) Chanley, Logansport; two brothers, Charles Sivits, Mississippi, and Bob Sivits, Peru; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Jean and Donna; and three brothers, Glen, Sid and Jerry.

A Funeral Service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Helena Sivits officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Twelve Mile.

Friends will be received from 11 am until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral chapel.
