Fredrick R. Benner

Fredrick R. Benner, 66 of New Waverly, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 10, 2020 in his residence.

Born on June 6, 1953 in Benton County, Indiana, he is the son to the late George and Edna (Korbe) Benner. On November 16, 1974 in New Waverly, he married Nancy J. Long who preceded in death on October 24, 1988.

Fred worked as a truck driver for Solid Finish Construction. He enjoyed watching movies, spending time with his family and attending all his grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving are one daughter, Amy (Charles) Muday, Delton, MI; two sons, Matthew R. (Amber) Benner, Walton; Bradley M. (Amy) Benner, Amboy; six sisters, Barbara (Everett) Shaffstall, AZ; Karen Berry, Fowler, IN; Eileen (Ed) Steiner, West Lafayette; Louise Benner, West Lafayette; Kathleen (Don) Obermeyer, Kouts, IN; Sandra (Shawn) Cothran, Fowler, IN; three brothers, Jack (Charlene) Benner, Fowler, IN; Patrick (Clarice) Benner, Earl Park, IN; David (Sandy) Benner, Fowler, IN; four grandchildren, Natalie Muday, Kaden Benner, Kaitlyn Benner and Nicholas Muday; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at New Waverly United Methodist Church, 9990 East Main Street, New Waverly, IN 46961, with Pastor Abby Lietz officiating. A private burial was held at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the Church.
