On April 27, 2020, Cass County Circuit Court Clerk Beth Liming gave the oath of office to a new deputy for the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. The newest deputy, Joseph Gentile, had a limited audience for the ceremony because of social distancing.

Deputy Gentile graduated from Maconaquah High School and obtained an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech Community College. He was previously a deputy with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2012.

“After three weeks of local training, Deputy Gentile will begin solo patrol in Cass County, “Sheriff Ed Schroder stated. “Deputy Gentile is a great addition to the men and women who serve the citizens of Cass County.”
