Cass County Tax Lien Sale Notice of Auction Format Change

Given current federal and state guidance to avoid large gatherings in light of the COVID-19 virus and its related public health and safety concerns, the Cass County Commissioners’ have chosen to change the September 4, 2020, Tax Lien Sale from a live, in person format, to an ONLINE sale.

The public auction will be conducted as an electronic sale under IC 6-1.1-24-2(b)10, at the following web site: www.zeusauction.com beginning on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM. local time. The properties in the online auction will commence closing at 4:00 PM. local time on Friday, September 4, 2020 at www.zeusauction.com.

If you are interested in participating in this public auction, registration information and the procedures you must follow to bid are available online at www.zeusauction.com. In order to participate, you must become a member of the auction web site (www.zeusauction.com). You must read, understand and agree to the rules of sale and payment terms. There is no cost associated with becoming a Zeus Auction member or registering to bid. Once you become a member of the auction web site, you must register specifically for the Cass County auction.

The period to register for the sale begins on Monday August 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. and will close Thursday September 3, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. If you do not complete the full registration process for the sale you will not be approved to bid on the auction.

PAYMENT PROCEDURE:

PAYMENT BY CASH, CERTIFIED OR CASHIER’S CHECK:

Payments may be overnighted to the Cass County Treasurer at 200 Court Park, Logansport, IN 46947 or dropped in the Treasurer’s Tax Payment Box at 200 Court Park, Logansport, IN 46947. Payments must be received in the office no later than 2:00 PM EST on Wednesday September 9, 2020.

Please have the outside of the envelope marked as ‘Tax Sale’ and on the memo line, if paying by certified or cashier’s check, please put your screen name and include a copy of your final invoice. This will help us to better identify and efficiently process your payment.

If payment is not made by the winning bidder by the required time, the bidder is subject to a penalty of 25% of the amount bid. See IC 6-1.1-24-8.
