Last Updated on August 26, 2020 by Cass County Online

Here are a few things we thought you might want to know for Wednesday, August 26, 2020:

SPELL IT OUT: In 1973, Congress designated August 26 as “Women’s Equality Day.” August 26, 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which granted women the right to vote. The Cass County Women’s Vote Centennial Initiative is marking the occasion by spelling out the word “VOTE” on the LHS Football field at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020. They invite girls/ladies of all ages to help spell VOTE in formation on the field. More info here.

WANT TO VOLUNTEER? United Way will host LIVE UNITED® Day on Friday, Sept. 11. Volunteers will be working on projects all over the county and all types of skill levels are needed, ranging from those with little skills needed to needing skilled trades such as electricians and plumbers. Find more info and sign up to volunteer here.

RAISING AWARENESS: Logansport Church, 2405 Shadowlawn, will host a National Overdose Awareness event at 6 p.m. Friday, August 28. The second annual Faces of Recovery Picnic happens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at Spencer Park in Logansport.
