Candidate debates scheduled ahead of 2020 election

Presidential Debates are scheduled for Sept. 29 and Oct. 22. A vice presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 7. Find more information at https://www.debates.org/

Indiana Governor: Republican Eric Holcomb, Democrat Woodrow Myers and Libertarian Donald Rainwater have agreed to debate on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Oct. 27. The debates will be broadcast from 7-8 p.m. EDT from WFYI-TV in Indianapolis and will also be live-streamed on the commission’s website and YouTube channel. District 25 State Representative: A debate between District 25 state representative candidates Don Lehe (R) and Alex Sabol (D) will air on WPBI NBC 16 on Friday, October 2nd from 7-8 p.m., WPBY ABC on Sunday October 18 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., and WPBY ABC on Sunday, October 25 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

LOCAL CANDIDATES: The Cass County Democrat Party invited local candidates on the 2020 ballot to participate in a candidate forum hosted by Iron Horse Broadcasting. The following candidates accepted the invitation and are scheduled as follows:
Monday October 12: Kenny Reese and Ruth Baker, Commissioner District 1
Tuesday Oct. 13: Vicki Byrd and Mike Stadjuhar, Commissioner District 2
Wednesday Oct. 14: Emily Sawyer, Malcolm Jarrell, Dean Davenport, County Council At-Large, Part 1, followed by Bruce Ide, Bryon Stephens, and Tracy Williamson, County Council At-large Part 2 
Thursday Oct. 15: Angie Zeck and George Franklin, Coroner
For each forum, tune to WSAL 1230 AM at 9 a.m. 

Cass County NextGen will be hosting the 2020 Political Forum on Tuesday, October 13 beginning at 6 p.m. This event is not open to the public; however, it will be live streamed via YouTube and on local Channel 18 for viewers to watch. The direct YouTube live stream link will be shared on the Cass County NextGen Facebook page. It can also be found by searching “Cass County Next Gen” on YouTube.
