Road restrictions and closures for Cass and surrounding counties
The following lane restrictions and road closures are current for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) LaPorte District. Comprised of 13 counties in Northwest Indiana, the LaPorte District includes Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Newton, Jasper, Starke, Marshall, Pulaski, Fulton, White, Cass and Carroll counties. The timeframe for many restrictions listed below are subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
Construction continues on the Hoosier Heartland Corridor
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces the closure of U.S. 35 to through traffic, between Delaware Road and County Road 100N, just north of Logansport, beginning Monday, July 9 through early August. U.S. 35 will be closed to all traffic about one mile north of U.S. 24, where crews are replacing a culvert over a creek.
A detour will take southbound drivers east on State Road 16, south on State Road 17, west on State Road 25 through Logansport, and back to U.S. 35. Northbound traffic will travel from U.S. 35 to east on State Road 25 through Logansport, north on State Road 17, west on State Road 16 and back to U.S. 35.
All thru commercial trucks are prohibited from using the following roads:
DELAWARE ROAD FROM CR 225W to KIESLING RD
CR 225W from US 35 to DELAWARE RD
CR 100N from US 35 to ROYAL CENTER PIKE
ROYAL CENTER PIKE from CR 100N to EBERTS RD
The Cass County Highway Department will be completing resurfacing work on CR 150N between CR 450E and CR 575E on Monday, July 9. The road will be closed to all but local traffic from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday. Residents living on the route will have access to their homes but may experience minor delays.
Project: State Road 25 new road and bridge construction
Details: Occasional daytime restrictions of one lane in each direction for construction of the new S.R. 25. County Road 600N and County Road 225W (E. Rockfield Road) closed until December. Speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph on U.S. 421 between County Road 100N and Bridge Creek.
Anticipated Timeframe: Through September 2012
