Jerry D. Cosgray

cosgrayJerry D. Cosgray, 80, of Royal Center passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 9:35 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on August 13, 1934 in White County, he was the son of the late Morris E. and Minnie B. (Blumhardt) Cosgray.

He was a 1952 Royal Center High School graduate.

On February 27, 1955 he married Doris A. Landis.  She preceded him in death on October 15, 1981.  He then married Eileen Carson on April 5, 1986.

Jerry was a retired salesman for Moorman Feeds in Reynolds.  He was also a farmer and owner of J&E Donkey farm.

Jerry was a member of the Royal Center Lions Club and Mid States Donkey and Mule Association.  Donkeys were his pride and joy and he loved driving them into Royal Center for Pioneer Days.  He enjoyed traveling many places with them, especially his most beloved, donkey Nicodemus to nursing homes, preschools and other places for people to enjoy.  Jerry also enjoyed spending time with friends and drinking coffee every morning in Royal Center.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Cosgray of Royal Center, daughters, Suann Wiemer of Lafayette and Jerie Lin Pasko (Duane) of Bonita Springs, Florida, step children, Diane Panton of Logansport, Shelia Carson of Greenwood and Valerie Carson Baker (Chris) of Monticello, sisters, Wilma “Jean” Berkshire (Marvin) of Royal Center and Wanetia Rehm (John) of Burnettsville, grandchildren, Nicholas McLeland of Delphi, Nicole McLeland of Logansport, Niedra McLeland of Lafayette, Jessica Benish of Logansport, Rachel Vaughn (Aaron) of Logansport, Danna McCord (Sam) of Kansas City, Kansas, Jared Pasko of Bonita Springs, Florida  and Michael Lukenbill of Logansport and great grandchildren, Taelyn, Braden, Evan, Zakkary, Justus and Hudson.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Karen DuBois.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Ed Roller officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Center Lions Club.
