7 Suggestions for Weekend Fun June 26-28 in Cass County

hueySo much to do in Cass County this weekend! From Broadway musicals to bike rides, fair activities to flying, amateur radio, live music and a special event with Miss Cass County, there’s something for everyone to enjoy right here in Cass County June 26-28, 2015.

See a Broadway Show

Civic Players of Logansport present the second and final weekend of performances of the musical “Chicago.” Tickets are just $15 — or $10 each for groups of $10 or more! Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in McHale PAC.

Take a bike ride

The 2 Rivers on 2 Wheels Bike Tour begins with a mass start at 8 a.m. at Riverside Park. Riders can participate in 20, 32, 52, 62 and 100 mile routes. For more information, visit 2riverson2wheels.org.

Get ready for the fair!

The Cass County 4-H Fair runs from July 5- 11 but some of the events have been moved up due to the 4th of July falling on Saturday.

Saturday, June 27, from 8-10 a.m., Community Center projects & Open Class exhibits can be entered; judging begins at 10 a.m.

The Cass County Tailwaggers will hold their 52nd Cass County 4-H Dog Show. at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 27 in the Exhibition Building. Members will compete in Obedience, Showmanship and Agility. The public is invited to attend.

Airport Fly-In/Drive-In

Originally scheduled for Saturday, this event will now happen Sunday, June 28. Head to the Logansport-Cass County Airport for a day of flying, food and fun! Airplanes rides, static displays, kid zone play area, American Huey 369 flights, AT-6 Texan flights, Air Indiana Skydiving demonstration jumps, and more. All airplane rides start at 10 a.m. and tickets sales stop at 4 p.m.. Hamburgers and hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the family and your lawn chairs and enjoy the flight activities.

Have a Field Day!

Members of the Cass County Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 at the Cass County Emergency Management Agency office, at 1227 North State Road 17, Logansport. Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

This year, Field Day operations will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday and run continuously until 2 p.m. Sunday. The Club will have a special station set-up so that the public can “get on the air” and experience Field Day. Cool off at the Library

Join the Reading Railroad and the 2015 Cass County 4-H Queen Contestants for a playful afternoon of literacy fun from 4-5 p.m. Saturday at the Logansport-Cass County Public Library. Featuring fun, fancy and fabulous activities for all Cass County girls, ages 3-10., and free books for everyone!

Sundown Summer Music Series

“Southside” Denny Snyder, a musician from Montreal who teaches guitar at Culver during the summer, will perform at this weekly event from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Little Turtle Waterway
