GET TO KNOW: Logan’s Landing

Last Updated on January 10, 2016 by cassnetwork

We want people to know about all the great things our community has to offer, so we’re inviting every business, organization and program in Cass County to be featured on Cass County Online.  All you have to do is tell us about yourself.

Today’s featured organization is Logan’s Landing.

downtown_rainLogan’s Landing is Logansport’s downtown revitalization organization.  Our mission is to make Cass County’s downtown between-the-rivers district a viable place to operate a business, a rewarding place to live, and a fun place to visit.

Logan’s Landing is dedicated to improving and preserving Logansport’s downtown district.  We believe that downtown is the heart of the community, and without a healthy heart, a community cannot grow and thrive.

Logan’s Landing is part of the national Main Street program.  We are accredited at the state level by Indiana Main Street, and we are nationally accredited as well — only about 10% of all Indiana Main Street programs are nationally accredited, and we are in that 10%.  We are a 501c3 non-profit organization, not a unit of government, although we work closely with city and county government to improve our community.

Logan’s Landing receives some funding from city and county government, but we depend heavily on donations as well as sponsorships of our various programs and events.  We have only one paid staff person and therefore rely on volunteers for a wide range of responsibilities.  Volunteer opportunities range from ongoing (such as serving on our board or committees) to occasional two-hour shifts at specific events, such as the Taste of Cass County.

Our one paid staff person is Executive Director Becki Harris.  We have a board of directors consisting of 9 people: Tom Partridge, Bob Dunderman, Nikki Reid, Mark Hartman, Judy Lewis, Bill Minglin, Sandi Korreckt, Greg Packard, and Jamie Lin.

Logan’s Landing works closely with Cass-Pulaski Community Corrections to beautify downtown Logansport — especially with our signature hot pink petunias!  We continue to develop the downtown Arts District with installation of public art and pocket parks.

Want more information on Logan’s Landing? Contact Executive Director Becki Harris at 574-722-9345 or e-mail lldirector@loganslanding.com. Their address is PO Box 473, Logansport, IN 46947. Office hours at The Depot at 4th and Melbourne are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but Becki says “I am a staff of one, so call ahead to make sure I’m in!’ You can also find them online at loganslanding.com
