Joyce E. Rusk

ruskJoyce E. Rusk, 89, of Royal Center passed away unexpectedly at 12:32 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 14, 1926 in Harrison Twp., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Gladys (Brown) Myers.

She was a 1944 Lucerne High School graduate.  On May 13, 1947 she married James “Jay” Rusk, he survives.

Joyce was a lifelong homemaker and farmwife.

She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport and she enjoyed volunteering for many
years at the Logansport Memorial Hospital gift shop.  Joyce also enjoyed golfing and league bowling in
her earlier years and once won the city championship.  She also enjoyed two Mission trips to Haiti.

Survivors include her husband, James “Jay” Rusk of Royal Center, sons, Rick C. Rusk (Terri Droulos) of Ponce Inlet, Florida and Thomas H. Rusk (Brenda) of Royal Center and daughter in law, Beverly Rusk of Ft. Wayne and sister in law, Mary Myers of Royal Center.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son, Robert J. Rusk, great grandson, Porter Lee Rusk, infant brother, John Howard Myers and brother, Frank Myers.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service.

Burial will be Royal Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Dykeman Guild Foundation in c/o Logansport Memorial Hospital.
