Richard William “Dick” Tulli

tulli.jpgRichard William “Dick” Tulli beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and self-proclaimed “mayor of Westgate Drive,” passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis, at age 85 from a sudden illness on Friday, January 29, 2016.

Dick graduated from Logansport High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. He married Mary Theresa Schmidt in November, 1952.

He was employed as an industrial engineer and a quality-control manager for 45 years at the General Tire, Rockwell International, Switches Inc., and T. M. Morris Manufacturing plants in Logansport until his retirement in 2003.

Dick was a lifetime parishioner at All Saints (formerly St. Joseph) Catholic Church and served the parish as an usher and a lead usher at Sunday Masses and as a member of the Liturgy Committee. He was a life member of the Logansport Elks Club, BPOE 66, and served as Exalted Ruler of the organization in Logansport and as District Deputy of The Elks. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Dick’s particular interests included automobiles, airplanes, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary.

He is survived by their four children and their families: Rick and wife Karen and their three children Beth and husband Mike Boniol and daughter Caroline, Laura, and Matt; Carol and husband Mark Whaley and Carol’s two children Michael Ditto and wife Laura and children Kali, Jenna and Bella and Krista and husband Travis Lawler and daughter Mary; Steve and Chris; and Mike and his three children Hayden, Victor, and Adrienne and half-brother, Jerry Black.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.

Burial with full military honors by uniformed members of the United States Navy and the local Military Honors detail will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery.
