Cass County Primary Election Preview 2016

Indiana’s 2016 Primary Election is Tuesday, May 3.

Cass County’s Vote Centers will be open Thursday, April 28, Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at  the following locations:

Logansport Mall – 3900 E. Market, Logansport
6th St. Senior Center – 115 S. 6th St, Logansport
Cass County 4-H Fairgrounds – CR 125 N, Logansport
Galveston Community Center – 101 S. Park Road, Galveston
Walton Fire Station – 110 S. Depot St., Walton
Royal Center Town Hall – 104 E. North St, Royal Center

On Election Day, Tuesday, May 3, those locations will be joined by the Twelve Mile Fire Station and all locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Any registered Cass County voter can also vote through Friday at the Cass County Government Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30. The Cass County Government Building will also be open for voting Monday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Voting will take place on the 3rd floor of the Cass County Government Building, which is a change from previous years. Use the entrance on the west side of the courthouse, off of 3rd St.

Voters should bring ID with them to the polls.

BMV license branches will extend hours of operation on Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3 to issue ID cards and driver’s licenses that may be used for identification at a polling place. Branches will be open on Monday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 3, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The branches will  only process new, amended or replacement ID cards, and renewed,  amended or replacement driver’s licenses and learner permits.

The Indiana BMV provides free, state- issued ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Hoosier,  as long as he or she can pr ovide proper documentation  and will be at least 18 years of age on or before the next General or Municipal Election.

Voters will need to declare whether they’re voting Republican or Democrat in the primary.

Voters will see a long list of candidates for president, including those who withdrew or suspended their campaigns after the filing deadline.
