Logansport officials continue to move forward in considering purchased power agreement proposals.

Tuesday afternoon, LMU Superintendent Paul Hartman, City Council President Teresa Popejoy, Utility Service Board President Dan Slusser and Mayor Dave Kitchell met for a conference call with representatives from Lewis & Kappes, the Indianapolis firm commissioned to evaluate the six proposals.

Following an hour-long discussion, the officials agreed to meet for a third conference call May 10. A joint executive session involving the City Council and Board will be held at 4:30 p.m. May 24. Details of the proposals will be presented at that meeting. A public meeting will be held this summer.

Lewis & Kappes has indicated that multiple proposals of the six presented can be considered viable alternatives for LMU when its current PPA expires at the end of 2018. LMU is contractually obligated to notify Duke Energy by Dec. 31, 2016, if it will not renew its contract past 2018.
