Indiana State Fair announces 5 country concerts for 2016

bluestravelerIndianapolis, IN – Today the second wave of  the 17 days of concerts was announced that will be part of the Free Stage lineup at the 2016 Indiana State Fair, which will take place August 5-21. Each night of the fair features a concert that is free with paid State Fair admission.

The second round of shows announced today make for the best country concerts value of the summer!

  • Neal McCoy, presented by HANK FM – Saturday, August 6
  • Aaron Tippin, presented by WFMS – Monday, August 8

w/ special guest Hunter Smith Band

  • Granger Smith featuring Earl Dibbles Jr., presented by WFMS – Tuesday, August 9
  • Maddie & Tae, presented by HANK FM – Tuesday, August 16
  • Lauren Alaina presented by HANK FM – Wednesday, August 17

w/ special guest Clare Dunn

 State Fair tickets are available online now at a discounted rate of $8 plus transaction fees on the Indiana State Fair website. Tickets can also be purchased at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum Box Office during regular business hours at the discounted rate. Tickets purchased at the gate are $12.

Purchase of an Indiana State Fair ticket allows for general admission to the Free Stage concert seating area. No seats can be reserved unless otherwise specified. In response to customer demand and in an effort to improve the customer experience the Indiana State Fair will sell alcohol in a designated area at the Free Stage. NEAL McCOY: McCoy has released ten studio albums on various labels, and has released 34 singles to country radio. In 1993,  Neal McCoy broke through with the back-to-back number 1 singles “No Doubt About It” and “Wink” from his platinum-certified album No Doubt About It. His commercial success continued into the late 1990s with two more platinum albums and a gold album, as well as six more Top Ten hits. Neal returned in early 2003 with The Luckiest Man in the World, following it with That’s Life in 2005.  A seventh Top Ten hit, the number 10 “Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On”, came in 2005 from his self-released That’s Life. Music of Your Life, a big band jazz and country amalgam with Les Brown, Jr. recorded for a public television special, appeared in 2011, with a new studio album, XII, finally arriving in 2012.

AARON TIPPIN: American country music artist and record producer. His debut single, “You’ve Got to Stand for Something” became a popular anthem for American soldiers fighting in the Gulf War and helped to establish him. During his RCA Records tenure, he recorded five studio albums and a Greatest Hits package. Tippin switched to Lyric Street Records in 1998, where he recorded four more studio albums, counting a compilation of Christmas music. After leaving Lyric Street in 2006, he founded a personal label known as Nippit Records, on which he issued the compilation album Now & Then. A concept album, In Overdrive, was released in 2009. His new album is called 25 Years.

GRANGER SMITH featuring EARL DIBBLES JR.: Granger Smith was signed to a contract at the age of nineteen in Nashville, Tennessee. He has performed three times at the White House, and in 2008 he travelled to perform for soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait. His 2013 album Dirt Road Driveway peaked at 15 on US country charts and number 11 on US indie charts.

Smith’s EP 4×4 was co-produced by Granger and Frank Rogers. The album debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at No. 6, and reached No. 51 on Billboard 200. The lead single from the album was “Backroad Song”, which sold over 32,000 downloads in its first week of release, entering the iTunes Country Singles chart at Number Two, the iTunes Canada Country Chart at number one and the Billboard Country Digital Sales Chart at number four.

On August 12, 2015, Granger announced he had signed with Broken Bow Records imprint Wheelhouse Records, which also assumed promotion of “Backroad Song”.

MADDIE & TAE: An American female country music duo composed of Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye, both of whom are singers, songwriters, and guitarists. The duo is signed to Dot Records. Their debut album, Start Here, was released on August 28, 2015 and includes the singles “Girl in a Country Song”, “Fly”, and “Shut Up and Fish”.

CLARE DUNN: An American country musician from southeast Colorado. After support from satellite radio as a “Highway Find” on The Highway (Sirius XM), she signed with Universal Music Group Nashville and BMG. She has opened for many notable country acts such as Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, and Hank Williams, Jr.

LAUREN ALAINA: An American country singer from Rossville, Georgia. Alaina was the runner-up on the tenth season of American Idol. Her debut studio album, Wildflower was released on October 11, 2011..
