Logan’s Landing thanks volunteers for help with downtown cleanup

Last Updated on May 9, 2016 by cassnetwork

On Saturday, April 30, 2016, Logan’s Landing held our annual “Downtown Green & Clean Day.” We had an absolutely amazing 211 volunteers this year! They all donated a few hours of their time on a cold, rainy Saturday morning to pick up litter, rake, sweep, pull weeds, and generally spruce up our community. We collected 25 bags of trash, one bin of recyclables, and more than 60 bags of yard waste, plus at least two truckloads of loose (unbagged) brush! Now that downtown Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will be inspired to help keep it clean and inviting.

Special thanks to the following: event chair Deb Ulerick; Logansport Savings Bank and the Logansport Fire Department for donating bottled water and ice for our volunteers; Martin’s Supermarket and McCord’s Do It Best for donating yard waste bags; Home Depot for donating trash bags and yard waste bags; local media for helping us get the word out and recruit volunteers; and to representatives of Angels of Mercy Home Care, the Bigger & Chapman Families, Church of Christ at Logansport, Columbia Middle School National Junior Honor Society, Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Cub Scout Troop 3203, Family Opportunity Center, Girl Scout Troop 419, Girl Scout Troop 42413, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Holy Spirit and Fire Church, Home Depot, Logansport High School Diversity Club, Logansport Municipal Utilities, Peak Community Services, State Theatre, Walgreens, and numerous individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to make Logansport a community we can all be proud of.

Let’s all help keep Logansport green and clean!
