Last Updated on June 12, 2016 by cassnetwork

We want people to know about all the great things our community has to offer, so we’re inviting every business, organization and program in Cass County to be featured on Cass County Online.  All you have to do is use this form to tell us about yourself.
guardianangelThis week’s featured business is Guardian Angel Hospice, located at 2500 George St. in Logansport.

Guardian Angel Hospice provides end of life care to those who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness with a terminal diagnosis.  We provide nursing care, home health aids, social services and chaplain services for the patient in whatever setting they call home.  So whether it be a home, a nursing facility, an assisted living facility, or an independent living facility, we can care for you or your loved one.  The hospice benefit is paid for by Medicare, most private insurances, VA benefits.  We don’t turn anyone away for inability to pay.  We strive to be that comfort to a family during a very difficult and sometimes wearying time.

Guardian Angel Hospice was founded in 2002 by a group of hospice professionals with a conviction that Central Indiana deserved a higher level of hospice care and that they could deliver it.  These “Founding Angels” resolved to run their organization based on five values:  Professionalism, Teamwork, Stewardship, Integrity and Service.
It is the people and the relationships that make this organization work.  We continue to be locally-owned and operated (one of the only ones left in the State of Indiana) by dedicated members of the community.  Our owners are available on a daily basis to answer questions or address concerns.

Not all hospices are created equally.  We are very involved in our community and are very invested.  We believe everyone deserves the best at an especially difficult time. Our “Founding Angels”  and the entire Guardian Angel Hospice team is very passionate about making the end of life process as comfortable and full of dignity as possible.

We also want you to know that it is YOUR choice of who you choose for your hospice provider as well as all the health care entities.  Know Us Before You Need Us is so important.  We don’t make good decisions when we are in crisis mode.  So get to know what is available to you in your community before you need those services.

Guardian Angel Hospice also has the Guardian Angel Hospice Foundation that helps with non medical needs and accepts donations and we hold several fundraisers such as our golf outing, our Butterfly Run 5K and many others throughout the year to help off set the cost of those needs as well as our programs such as our bereavement day camp for the “littles” and the week end grief camp for our older students who have suffered a loss.

We are always looking for volunteers to help show companionship to our patients, clerical needs, giving the care giver a brief break as well as many other capacities.  We are especially looking for veteran volunteers for our patients who are veterans so we can better serve their needs.

Leslie Bever, Dorothy DeWitt and Dana Isaacs are our owners and are actively involved in the business on a daily basis.  We serve on many boards including the Logansport Cass Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Cass County Resource Network, Reading Railroad and many others.  We strongly believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work.

We are very passionate about serving to the best of our ability and strive to go above and beyond the expected.
