Teen airlifted after water-related incident

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a water related incident that occurred in Cass County Tuesday evening. At approximately 7:30 pm, Cass County 911 dispatch received a call of a juvenile that had been recovered from the water on private property.

Brandon Kinser (16), had been swimming on private property during a baseball awards banquet last evening when witnesses stated he began to struggle to stay above water. When several others realized Brandon was having trouble, they jumped in to help him. Two of the subjects nearby found Brandon underwater and brought him up to a nearby boat.

At this point, Brandon was taken to shore where subjects immediately began CPR. Once on scene, Twelve Mile EMS requested for a lifeline helicopter to be in route. Brandon was transported by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

Assisting Agencies included Twelve Mile EMS, Cass County 911 Dispatch, Cass County Sheriff Dept and Samaritan Medical Transport.
