LILLY SCHOLARSHIP ORIENTATIONS:

The timeline for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship application process has changed, and that’s also resulted in some changes to the criteria for 2017 applicants.

Completed applications must be submitted by September 2, 2016 for consideration.

Cass County students graduating from high school in 2017 who wish to apply for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship must attend a mandatory orientation for instructions and application materials.

College entrance exam scores are NOT required for this year’s applicants.

Orientations are scheduled Monday, July 18  at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Tuesday July 19 at 9 a.m.; Friday July 22 at 1 p.m.; and Monday July 25 at 5 p.m. at the Cass County Community Foundation Office at 729 E. Market St. in Logansport. Students MUST call and register for a date and time.

The Community Foundation is also reminding Cass County’s non-traditional students that the deadline to submit applications for the “Back Home Again in Indiana” scholarship is July 1.

More information is available on the Cass County Community Foundation’s website at casscountycf.org or by calling 574-722-2200.

MEALS ON WHEELS:

Logansport Memorial Hospital is seeking volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. Drivers are needed to help deliver meals within the Logansport city limits to seniors in their homes. Deliveries are only made Monday – Friday, with no deliveries on major holidays or in bad weather. The route takes about an hour to complete, and meals are ready to be picked up by 10 a.m. Mileage reimbursement is available, and Logansport Memorial Hospital staff will work with your availability. The volunteer receives a free meal from Café Express at Logansport Memorial Hospital, once the meals have been delivered. You must have a valid driver’s license, complete an application at Logansport Memorial Hospital, pass a background check and attend a volunteer orientation to become a driver for the Meals on Wheels program.
