KOKOMO, Ind. — More than 50 future nurses celebrated acceptance into the Indiana University Kokomo School of Nursing, at its annual induction ceremony.

Dean Linda Wallace said the ceremony welcomes the students to the school, and serves as a reminder that nursing is the most trusted of professions, and that honor is earned or lost with every interaction they have with patients.

“The ceremony is an acknowledgement of their efforts to earn acceptance, and our believe they will successfully complete the program preparing them for licensure as a registered nurse,” she said. “It symbolizes our welcome and offer of support as they begin the rigorous program.”

Faculty honored the achievements of the 51 students with presentation of certificates, and the class recited the Nightingale Pledge, a statement of the ethics and principles of the nursing profession, named for Florence Nightingale.
