Police search for suspect in Twelve Mile area

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department called off a search in the Twelve Mile area around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Deputy John O’Connor says they attempted to stop a vehicle with a wanted individual around 6:45 p.m., when the suspect allegedly fled into a flat field, then into a cornfield. Law enforcement attempted to track the suspect with K9s and were unsuccessful in locating him. O’Connor said the suspect abandoned the vehicle in the woods and then fled on foot.

Authorities said the warrant was for domestic battery and strangulation.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester Police, Miami County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Royal Center Fire Dept and Twelve Mile Fire Dept.
