INDIANAPOLIS- The forecast is calling for rain this weekend , but the fun doesn’t stop at the 2016 Indiana State Fair.  With plenty of indoor, covered attractions and exhibits, our 250-acre campus provides so many opportunities for fairgoers when the weather won’t cooperate.

Most of the livestock barns are connected, so visitors can see the world’s largest boar, champion sow and litter, breeding sheep and goats, the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales, and dairy calves with minimal or little time spent outside.  Other indoor attractions along Main Street include the Beer, Wine & Spirits Exhibition, the Visit Indiana Bicentennial Pavilion dedicated to Celebrating Indiana Bicentennial, the Indiana Arts building showcasing several 4H exhibits, the Purdue Extension Agriculture/Horticulture building, home of the Indiana Market Place and Exposition Hall.

The north side of the fairgrounds is home to other indoor and covered attractions, like the DNR building, TAIKOPROJECT, Goat Mountain, and Pioneer Village.  Covered tractor shuttles provide easy transportation and an opportunity to cool off.

Safety is our number one priority and we have several people and systems in place to keep fairgoers updated on the weather conditions at the Fairgrounds during their visit, and our new Indiana State Fair App presented by WGU Indiana can push weather updates to fairgoers.

The Indiana State Fair reminds visitors to stay hydrated, balance indoor and outdoor time, and be prepared for a variety of weather conditions.  For more information on the many attractions at the 2016 Indiana State Fair, please visit our website.
