Trine University will host an all day event on Sept. 27, 2016, for former ITT Technical Institute students at its eight education centers across Indiana and Michigan.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with presentations on transferring to Trine offered at noon and 5 p.m. The first registered ITT student at each location will receive free books for the term.
Trine University offers locations in Angola; Avon/Indianapolis; Centreville, Michigan; Columbus; Fort Wayne; Logansport; Mishawaka/South Bend; and Warsaw.
Former ITT students may apply to Trine University free of charge and can transfer up to 89 semester credits. The university also offers free evaluation of transfer credit and will purchase official transcripts for ITT students.
Students have the option to take eight-week accelerated courses in the traditional face-to-face format, online or blended — whichever is more convenient. Small class sizes enable faculty mentors to provide individual attention. Classes start every four weeks.

Former ITT employees are also invited to attend to explore employment opportunities.
The event will be 4 to 7 p.m. September 28 at the Ivy Tech Community College Illinois Fall Creek Center, located at 2535 N. Capitol Ave., Indianapolis. Presentations from participating schools will begin every 30 minutes. EmployIndy and human resources from Ivy Tech and other institutions will be present to assist former ITT employees seeking career opportunities.
“What an impressive amount of resources that have come together quickly to assist these former ITT students,” said Ivy Tech Community College President Sue Ellspermann. “We all have a responsibility to the state of Indiana to train and educate Hoosiers, and right now, we cannot let these students fall through the cracks. These students live and work in our communities, and as the state’s community college we are committed to reaching out and assisting them in achieving their educational goals. We are doing this in partnership with other institutions of higher education around the state to ensure these students are presented with all of their options.”

The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs will have representatives available to help student veterans. Bedel Financial Consulting, Inc., will have a financial planner at the event to assist students. Other resources onsite will be available from Ivy Tech Community College including, but not limited to: advising, financial aid, student success and degree program representatives.
