Bicentennial Barn Quilt, Barn Tour this weekend in Carroll County

The Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt will be on exhibit in the Carroll County Courthouse rotunda from October 6 to October 8. The quilt consists of squares made by quilters from all 92 counties in Indiana Also artist Gwen Gutwein will be present and exhibit paintings from her Heritage Barn Series from all 92 counties on October 8.

These art exhibits are in connection with the 2016 Indiana Fall Barn Tour that will be held Saturday, October 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Carroll County area. Ten local barns will be open to registered visitors.

barntour_posterThe driving tour starts at the Carroll County Courthouse in Delphi by registering with $12 for each vehicle and picking up the map that locates the 10 barns on the tour. The tour takes back roads and is conducted at each party’s own pace. Docents are each barn. Links found at the Indiana Barn Foundation website and the Carroll County Barns website allow for preregistration through Eventbrite.

The Indiana Barn Foundation (IBF) is a nonprofit organization founded to appreciate, promote and preserve the remaining heritage barns across the state of Indiana. Proceeds of the barn tour will go to IBF programs for educational, legislative and archival documenting projects.
