New leadership for Cass County Resource Network

Last Updated on November 18, 2016 by cassnetwork

United Way of Cass County is officially turning over the reins of Cass County Resource Network (CCRN) to Zach Szmara, Pastor of The Bridge Community Church and Rick Hollering, Executive Director of Youth Services Alliance (YSA). Thursday marked the last day for United Way to be at the helm of this group.

Over the past year CCRN has gone in a different direction than it had in the past due to community conversations which resulted in five aspirations from people in the community. The aspirations that came from 18 months of conversations were that Cass County wanted a community that is all of the following: progressive and united, safe, drug-free, educated, and diversified. The CCRN group worked in these five groups all year in 2016 to bring the community aspirations to the forefront of its work and move the community forward.

While the leaders of these groups will continue moving these aspirations forward, it will be done outside of CCRN. CCRN will still come together for the betterment of the community but will do so in a more networking, sharing environment. We are very excited that Zach and Rick are taking this on and we know they will take it to a whole new level. United Way will still be a part of this, just in a different capacity.
