Cleora Mae Gunion

Cleora Mae Gunion, 94, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, in the Golden Living Center, Knox.

Born March 12,1922, in Miami County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Phebe (Butt) Raymer.

On September 2, 1940, in Mexico, Indiana, she was married to Elmer Lyman Gunion, who proceeded her in death on October 14, 1988.

Cleora was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for people and doing repairs and alterations.  She enjoyed gardening. Cleora had a standing lunch date every Thursday with several dear friends.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Phebe “Elizabeth” and Leon Ulery, of Star City; one granddaughter; several great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeding in death by daughter Lola Murphy, brothers William, Odus, and Al Jr. Raymer, two sisters, Anna Lee Howard and Jessie Gail Willing, two step sisters, Florence Eidse and Levisie McManara and one grandchild Bryan Smith.

A funeral service celebrating Cleora’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation hours will be from noon until the time of the service Friday in the chapel.
