Last Updated on December 23, 2016 by cassnetwork

Alpha Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has responded to the Cass County Community Foundation’s gift to fund the Carousel over Thanksgiving weekend with a gift of their own. The sorority has generously made a gift to pay the operating expenses of the Cass County Carousel for Friday December 23 and Monday December 26 after Christmas and will allow all rides to be free.

In announcing the gift, President Jacqueline Rivers said, “Alpha Phi is one of several local chapters of Beta Sigma Phi, a social and cultural organization. The sisters in my chapter believe that this gift is a great way to give many families a fun alternative after the Christmas rush.”

The sorority annually makes and sells cheeseballs to fund various charitable organizations and community needs. The cheeseball project has provided funds to support families in crisis, scholarships, food pantries, Relay for Life, Salvation Army, after proms and even named a room at the new Ivy Tech building.

The Carousel will be open both Friday December 23 and Monday December 26 from 1-5 pm.

UPDATED: The Carousel will be open Friday, Dec. 23 from 4-8 p.m. We are waiting on conformation on the hours for Monday, Dec. 26.
