June E. Dunbar

June E. Dunbar, 94 of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on June 24, 1922 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Beall) Miller.  On January 6, 1940 in South Bend, IN, she married Wilbur L. “Skip” Dunbar who preceded in death March 21, 2003.

June was a homemaker and the manager of her husband’s plumbing and electrical business. She was very active in the Girl Scouts for over fifty years and a strong advocate who helped save the Dentzel Carousel. June was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving her is a son, Carl John (Connie) Dunbar, West Lafayette; daughter, Sharon Nolan, Louden, TN; six grandchildren, Mike (Mary) Nolan, Crystal Lake, IL; Elizabeth (Oscar) Morales, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Holly (Steve) Krull, Chicago, IL; Curtis Dunbar, Falls City, WA; Carla Dunbar, West Lafayette; Cara (Scott) Klockow, Kouts, IN; twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including, Shirley Settlemyre, Anita Settlemyre, Carol Rhoades, Charles Settlemyre, and Gary Settlemyre; several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Olive Settlemyre, son-in-law, Michael Nolan and one great granddaughter, Nessa May Klockow.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 PM Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Don Cline of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3:30 until the time of service on Monday.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Memorials may be made to the family to help assist in the preservation of the Dentzel Carousel.
