Mary Lee Frye, 78, formerly of Logansport, died peacefully in her sleep November 30, 2016 at the Copper Trace Senior Facility in Westfield.
Born April 29, 1938 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport, she was the daughter of Cecil L. and Letha C. [Kuns] Woodruff.
She was a 1956 graduate of the Logansport High School and a 1960 graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. degree in Nursing. As an RN, she worked public health in Indianapolis; Home Hospital in Lafayette; the Caylor-Nichol Clinic in Bluffton; and Lutheran Hospital in Ft Wayne. She retired from Nursing in 1978. For a few years in the early 80s she worked at Kern Brothers Shoe store in Zionsville.
She was married to Larry R. Frye on August 19, 1961. Also surviving are son, Nelson B. Frye, and his wife Rene’, who live in Zionsville; Christina M. [Frye] Smith, and her husband Michael, who live in Wentzville, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Wesley R. Frye, Haley A. Frye, Insley L. Smith, and Carson M. Smith.
She was a member of the Zionsville United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Zionsville United Methodist Church in Zionsville.
The funeral service will be at Kroeger Funeral Home in Logansport, on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Visitation will be at 12 Noon, followed by at 1 PM service.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
