Richard E. Hipsher

Richard E. Hipsher, 84 of Logansport, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 21, 1932 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Clarence J. and Lenora E. (Schell) Hipsher. Dick was a retired lineman for LMU, where he worked for 35 years.

Dick was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Dick was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 60. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed drawing and painting. Dick cherished the time he was able to spend with his friends and family.

Surviving are five sons, James A. (Marsha) Moore, Titusville, PA; William R. Hipsher, 29 Palms, CA; Mark A. (Kathy) Hipsher, Gurnee, IL; Daniel Hipsher, Logansport; Donald (Dorena) Hipsher, Camden, IN; two daughters, Diane (Gary) Murphy; and Linda Sharp, both of Logansport; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, James A. Hipsher, Logansport; Robert L. Hipsher, Abbeville, SC; three sisters, Helen M. Lane, Lafayette, IN; Delta M. Swisher, Greentown, IN; Jean Ann (Joe) Flory, Logansport.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Hipsher; and a granddaughter, Rashelle Hipsher.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Gross officiating. Burial with full Military Graveside Rites will follow in Ever- Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Logansport American Legion Post #60.
