Richard H. Oswalt

Richard H. Oswalt, 84, of Royal Center passed away at 7:13 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

Born on June 10, 1932 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late James and Goldie Mae (Roller) Oswalt.

Richard married Maxine J. Wilson on June 8, 1952, she survives.

Richard formerly owned and operated Oswalt’s Garage in Royal Center for many years and he retired in 2008 from CFS in Winamac.

Richard was a member of Bell Center Bible Church and he enjoyed trains, taking pictures with his camera and working on his computer.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Oswalt of Royal Center, son, Kevin Oswalt (Dyann) of Royal Center, daughters, Nancy Greiner (Dennis) of Royal Center and Jilene Malchow (Mike) of Royal Center, sisters, Jean DeWitt of Royal Center and Ruth Sterling of Royal Center and grandchildren, Season Day (Brett), Adam Oswalt (Sarah), Rebekah Collins (Brandon), Rachel Malchow, Brandon Greiner (Ellen), Mike Malchow, Justin Malchow and Tiffany Greiner (Noel), and great grandchildren, Josh, Kaylie, Renee, Ashlin, Tyler, Hayley, Lukas, Lizzie, Selah, Laylynn, Eliza, Devin, Elena, Jaynie, Lia and Owen.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Oswalt and Frederick Oswalt and sisters, Virginia King, Patricia Pratt and Geneva Gilsinger.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Ed Roller officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
