Hazel June Campbell

Hazel June Campbell, 94, of Logansport, passed away at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, in her home.

Born June 3, 1922, in Pulaski County, June was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary E. (Knebel) Waddups.

On January 18, 1941, she was married to Walter I. Campbell., who preceded her in death April 27, 1992.

June was retired from Gen Corp.  She was a member of the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church. June was life member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. She was an avid Pacers fan.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, : Linda L. Roller and Cherri (Mike) Nicoll, all of Logansport; one daughter-in-law Diana (Keith) Leslie of Logansport; one brother Charles (Ruthann) Waddups of Logansport; two sisters, Sue Ann Fellers of Bruce Lake and Nancy Gordon of Logansport; six grandchildren: Brad (Mary) Roller of Bunker Hill, Tina D. (Bob) Buchanan of Traveler Rest, SC, Michelle (Bob) MacGregor of Gilbert, AZ, Marlena S. (Michael) Howard of Manhatton, MT, Misty D. (Travis) Minnick of Logansport, and Ryan M. (Mercy) Nicoll of South Korea; eleven great-grandchildren: Ashlee N. (Matt) Coker, Aubree A. Buchanan, Megan Moore, Kelsey Minnick, Allie Minnick, Logan MacGregor, Wyatt MacGregor, Morgan Howard, Lexi Minnick, Collin Howard, Trelanie Weirauch and Toria Piper; four great-great-grandchildren: Rowan Buchanan, Mattox Coker, Arianna Spencer and McKenna Adams; and several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons,  Terry W. Campbell and Rodger L. Campbell; and eight siblings Art, Murl, Dale, Dick, Tom and Ronnie Waddups, Marie Benn-Hilfiger and Eileen Thompson.

A funeral service celebrating June’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 13 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Scott Ellison officiating.

Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation hours will be held from noon until the time of the service on Friday in the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church.
