Monday, January 16, 2017 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The president encourages all Americans to observe this day with appropriate civic, community, and service projects in honor of Dr. King and to visit www.MLKDay.gov to find Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service projects across our country. Post Office: Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a postal holiday. There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed.
Cass County Government: The Cass County Government Building (courthouse) will be closed Monday, Jan. 16. The Cass County Commissioners meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan 17 at 9 a.m.
IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Tickets are on sale now for Ivy Tech Community College’s annual community banquet in celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s edition will feature Emmy Award-winning television personality, best-selling author, and inspirational life coach Iyanla Vanzant. The event is set for Thursday, Jan. 26, in the Bel Air Events Center, 3014 S. Webster St. Individual tickets for the community banquet, which will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 26, are $50 and can be purchased online at https://ivytech.edu/kokomo/dream.html by the Jan. 20 deadline. Seating is limited to the first 380 people who register and more than 250 tickets have already been sold
