Logan’s Landing thanks community for help with downtown cleanup

Last Updated on April 29, 2017 by cassnetwork

On Saturday, April 29, Logan’s Landing held our annual “Downtown Green & Clean Day.” More than 75 dedicated volunteers donated a few hours of their time on a cold, rainy Saturday morning to sweep, pull weeds, pick up litter, rake, and generally spruce up our community. We collected 35 bags of trash, two bins of recyclables, and more than 50 bags of yard waste, plus at least one truckload of loose (unbagged) brush! Now that downtown Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will be inspired to help keep it clean and inviting.

Special thanks to the following: event chair Deb Ulerick; NIPSCO for the Environmental Action grant, Logansport Savings Bank and Amelio’s on the River for donating bottled water and ice for our volunteers; McCord’s Do It Best and Martin’s Supermarket for donating yard waste bags; Cass County Communication Network for promotional assistance and pictures; Home Depot for donating trash bags and bottled water, the Pharos-Tribune and The River for helping us get the word out; and to representatives of the Armstrong Family, Beacon Credit Union West, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scout Troop 2, the Brugh Family, Cass County Indivisible, Columbia Middle School National Junior Honor Society, Emmanuel Church, Lifegate Church, Logansport High School Berry Buddies, Logansport High School Diversity Club, Logansport Municipal Utilities, the Mayorga Family, Midwest Eye Consultants, Peak Community Services, Phi Theta Kappa, the Popovich Family, The River, Security Federal, State Theatre, and numerous individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to make Logansport a community we can all be proud of.

Let’s all help keep Logansport green and clean!
