Ralph E. Byers

Ralph E. Byers, 84, of Camden, passed away Friday April 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport, IN.

Born on November 26, 1932 in Cass County, Ralph was the son to the late Fred and LaVera (Stroble) Byers.

On June 30, 1957 in the Indian Creek Church near Royal Center, IN he married Etta Mae Swank who survives.

Ralph retired from Small Parts after 20 years of service. He had also worked at Watsons Service Station, Todds Appliance, Excel Auto Parts and Jackson Kitchel. Ralph was better known for his part time work on lawn mowers and small engines.  He was a long-time member and Past Master of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211, a member of United Commercial Travelers and member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Surviving along with his wife are three daughters, Vicki (Steve) Anderson, Frankfort, IN; Judy (Anthony) New, Fort Wayne, IN; Linda (Dave) Ritchie, St. Louis, MO; brother, Richard Byers, Royal Center, IN; sister, Barbara Nelson, Eugene, Oregon; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

One brother, Daniel J. Byers, one sister, Carolyn Tomlinson, two half sisters, Frieda Cohee and Thelma Corn, and one half brother, Bill,  have preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Marissa Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery near Logansport.

Visiting hours will be held from 11:00am until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, Riley Hospital for Children, Diabetes Foundation or your favorite charity.
