Cass County Community Foundation announces grants workshop, $115,000 available for local non-profits

Last Updated on May 22, 2017 by cassnetwork

The Cass County Community Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce that an even greater pool of community grant funds will be available to Cass County non-profits during the 2017 Competitive Community Grant process.  CCCF President Deanna Crispen announced that the Foundation has made up to $115,000 available for this year’s competitive grants.

When making the announcement, Crispen stated, “Our growth has been substantial over the last decade increasing our grant money from approximately $19,000 just 12 years ago to $115,000 this year! Our board has continued to work diligently to grow our funds so that every year we can offer more back to the community for important projects. This year’s $115,000 pool marks the twelfth consecutive year that the Foundation has increased the amount available.”

Thanks to generous donations from Cass County citizens, as well as effective stewardship and financial management of unrestricted funds, CCCF has continued to consistently meet the community’s needs through awarding grants. Non-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations serving Cass County are encouraged to apply for grants designed for projects which benefit the community and improve the quality of life in Cass County.

A FREE grant-writing workshop will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at the Cass County Community Foundation building, 729 E. Market Street and will last less than one hour. The workshop is free and will explain new requirements for organizations to apply for the 2017 Competitive Grants as well as a new process for smaller requests.

“For the first time ever grant proposals will have a minimum request level for the competitive cycle,” Crispen stressed. “Several other changes have been made affecting the application for smaller grants and the timeline for those requests will be different. We are hoping that these changes will encourage organizations to keep asking for the things they need but to also dream bigger. While it is not mandatory, we are urging all non-profit organizations who intend to apply to have a representative at the workshop”

Space is limited so those planning to attend must call CCCF at 574-722-2200 for reservations.

Grant applications may be picked up at the CCCF office, 729 E. Market Street, downtown Logansport, or downloaded from the Foundation
website (www.casscountycf.org) after the workshop. The deadline to return completed grant applications is by 5 p.m. on Friday June 30, 2017. For information about the application process, contact the CCCF office at 574-722- 2200.
