Freshman Berry Kickoff will be Friday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Logansport High School. Cost is $15 and those who attend will receive a Berry t-shirt. Download the registration form here.
SENIOR BOOTCAMP: Logansport HS is excited to announce the new ACHIEVE Center for college and career readiness. Located in E207, students will be able to stop by the center for help and information on topics including college applications, scholarships, scholarship essay help, FAFSA, transcripts, dual credits, 21st Century Scholar program, ACCUPLACER testing, career interest inventories, college visits, graduation plans, job applications and more. Mrs. Abby Lundy is the ACHIEVE Center Coordinator.
On Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 5-7:30 p.m., join the LHS guidance department for the Inaugural Senior Bootcamp evening. Listen and learn about what to expect your senior year from community members, school staff, & college professionals. Enter through Door 5 in the LHS Cafeteria. Welcome and grand opening of the new ACHIEVE Center will begin at 5 p.m. There will be 30-minute breakout sessions from 5:30 7 p.m.

Southeastern Community Schools (Lewis Cass)
Online registration begins Tuesday, July 18 at 8 a.m. and ends the first day of school. To register, please sign into your Powerschool account or visit sesc.k12.in.us. All new student registration for grades 6th through 12th must visit the school in order to register.
Lewis Cass will have an open house for our parents and students in Kindergarten through 12th grade on Tuesday, August 1 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Please visit our new classrooms and find your lockers.
Teacher first day is Wednesday, August 2. Student first day is Thursday, August 3.
All 1:1 devices will be distributed the first day of classes.
Routing for parent drop -off at Lewis Cass Elementary and Lewis Cass Junior High and High School has also changed. Please visit sesc.k12.in.us after July 26 to see the new changes.
Pioneer Jr. Sr. High School will hold their 7th grade orientation on Aug. 3, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Classes for elementary students begin at 8:35 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m. Jr.-Sr. High classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:20 p.m. All school buses will run on Monday, August 21st. Drivers plan their routes to arrive at school by 8:15 a.m.
BOOK RENTAL FEES: Grades K – 2 will pay a flat rate of $120.00. Grades 3 – 6 will pay a flat rate of $135.00. Grades 7-12: Fees of $126.00 plus technology fees totaling $47, and a $6 handbook fee. Additionally, there will be fees for some course materials and dual credits offered for some high school courses based upon individual student schedules. The Music Instrumental Rental Fee is $25.00/semester. Rental fees are to be paid prior to the first day of school, and may be paid by check or using a debit/credit card via Harmony once fees are posted for your student.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Students enrolling in kindergarten must be five (5) years old and students enrolling in the first grade must be six (6) years old on or before August 1, 2017. Parents need to provide certification from a physician that their child has been properly immunized, and also need to present a valid birth certificate if these have not previously been provided to the school.
BOOKSTORE: All Caston students who do not pay fees prior to the start of the school year, are to pay fees at the Bookstore beginning Monday, August 7th, through Wednesday, August 9th. Hours on Monday and Wednesday are 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Hours on Tuesday are 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
CAFETERIA: Lunches at Caston will be served beginning Monday, August 21st. Breakfast is served each morning for students choosing to participate. The cost per student meal is as follows: Breakfast for all K-12 students is $1.50; Lunch for students in grades K-6 is $2.25; grades 7-12 is $2.45. Each student will establish a renewable lunch account for meal fees and is responsible for maintaining a positive balance in the account. Many families are eligible for free or reduced lunch fees based on the federal guidelines. Applications are available in both school offices & on the school webpage. Please have your household’s application completed and turned in prior to the start of the school year if you qualify for federal assistance.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Caston Elementary School will hold its annual “Back to School Night” on August 18 from 5:30 – 6:30p.m. All Elementary students & parents are encouraged to attend. Students may bring in their school supplies and leave them at their desks so they do not have to transport them to school the first day of school.
STUDENT ENROLLMENT – CASTON ELEM & JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL:
Students in grades seven (7) through twelve (12) will enroll at the Guidance Office.
Registration will be held on the following schedule:
Monday, August 7 from 1-7 p.m. (Students New to Caston/All Students)
Monday, August 7: 7th Grade Orientation at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, August 8: 9 – 11:30 a.m. & 1-3 p.m. (All Students)
Wednesday, August 9: 1-7 p.m. (All students)
SPECIAL EDUCATION AND CENTURY CAREER CENTER CLASSES: Special education and Century Career Center classes located in Logansport will begin on Thursday, August 10th. Special education students attending classes at Logansport will be picked up at and returned to their homes by the special education bus. They will be transported directly to Logansport to arrive there at approximately 8:00 a.m. Students attending Century Career Center’s afternoon classes will be transported to Logansport and are to meet at the front office doors by 11:45 a.m. to meet the bus. Century Career Center students will then be transported back to Caston following their courses at the Century Career Center and are scheduled to arrive at approximately 3:00 p.m.
FAMILY EDUCATION RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT: This Act of 1974 restricts the release of some information about students and restricts the availability of student records. Only directory information may be made public. Directory information includes student names, parent names, addresses, telephone numbers, photographs, and videos not used in a disciplinary matter. If you do not want such information released, please request this by notifying the respective principals in writing. By Indiana statute, Armed Forces recruiting representatives are allowed access to directory information.
Thursday, August 17 & Friday, August 18: Teacher Work Days – Students do not attend school either of these days.

DELAYS or EARLY DISMISSALS: Should the Corporation find it necessary to delay school or dismiss early, the official radio stations for notification are: Rochester WROI 92.1, Logansport WSAL 1230 AM, 102.3 The River, or Logansport Hoosier Country 103.7. This information is also posted to Facebook, Twitter, & the school’s webpage. Additionally, the automated phone system will be activated; please make sure all contact information on file at the school is current at all times.
