Residents asked to report flood or tornado damage to Cass County Emergency Management

Last Updated on July 17, 2017 by cassnetwork

The Cass County Emergency Management Agency would like to have residents and businesses who had flood or tornado damage from the recent flooding and/or tornado events we have had recently, to please report it to the Cass County EMA Office by calling 574-722-2484 or by emailing ema@co.cass.in.us . EMA is collecting the information to turn in the information in to see if the county and State will qualify for a federal disaster declaration. Certain thresholds must be met order to qualify, so any report(s) are important.

The damage EMA is ooking for would be to living areas of your residence, damage to furniture, carpeting, floors, furnaces, water heaters, other appliances, etc. because of the flooding. EMA is also collecting the damage related to the tornado or strong winds/wind damage like roofing damage, siding damage, structural damage etc. Water in the basement, crawl spaces, garages, etc. may be reported, but may not qualify for any assistance.

Cass County EMA is compiling the reports and reporting them to the state, and if you have sent in your emails or already made calls to the office it is greatly appreciated.
