Sharon J. Gill

Sharon, J. Gill, age 70, Peru, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 16, 1947, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Robert G. and Delores Rance Thompson. Her parents preceded her in death.

On November 16, 1968, in Logansport, Sharon was married to Stephen Gill, who survives.

A 1965 graduate of Logansport High School, Sharon attended John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and Indiana University in Kokomo. Sharon enjoyed classical music, painting and drawing, and animals. Sharon enjoyed her family and her grandchildren most of all.

Sharon had been an occupational therapist at the Logansport State Hospital.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons, Stephen M. (Keisa) Gill II, Bonita Springs, Fla., Shawn J. A. (Mia) Gill, Jasper, Ga.; daughters, Shara C. E. Alvarado, Peru, Shealey M (Tony) Pena, Logansport, Stephanie R. (Brian) Lanter, Winchester, Ind.; brothers, Robert E. (Patty) Thompson, Warner Robins, Georgia, Danny Thompson, Fort Myers, Fla; mother-in-law, Irene Gill, Logansport; twenty grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

An infant daughter, Schantell Gill, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017, in Kroeger Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4th, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Stephen Michael Gill II officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
