Owners of property in Cass County received their property tax assessments a couple of weeks ago, but due to an error on the legal descriptions, they’ll be receiving another copy. County assessor Cathy Isaacs says Form 11s were resent on Friday, Aug. 11 at no cost to the county – the company that sent them out is paying the cost to resend.
The assessed value on the Form 11 is the starting point for calculating annual property tax payments.
Property owners will have until September 25 to file an appeal if there’s a problem. If you have questions or see a significant change from the form you received earlier this year, let the assessor’s office know by calling 574-753-7710.
